Jim is an experienced long distance walker and runner who over the years has completed numerous challenge walks ranging from 20 miles all the way up to 100 mile events and multi-day challenges.

In 2006 he completed the ‘Atacama Crossing’ in Chile, South America-a 155 mile endurance event across the Atacama desert, the driest place on earth, over a period of 6 days carrying all your own food and equipment.

Then in 2007 he completed the ‘Everest Marathon’ starting at the old Everest base camp at 17,000 feet, after trekking for 3 weeks to acclimatise.

He has also completed the London and Paris marathons along with a number of other road and trail races.

Jim also posses qualifications as a fitness instructor and holds a diploma in nutrition, with its relevance to health and sport; holds a current wilderness first aid certificate, and has many years experience in weight training.
